The intent of this website is to provide a way of searching the databases
of birth and death certificate details derived from certificates obtained from the
General Records Office (GRO) of the United Kingdom. I am really hoping that people will submit contributions to this database so
that it becomes a useful resource for all genealogists researching UK births prior to 1912.
Currently I am not entering any details for events after 1912 primarily because of the data
protection rules (100 hundred years and all that). I may include death details for deaths after 1912 at
a later date.
It is very much a work in progress and is currently just a very small collection based copies that I have purchased or that I have located on the internet so far. For a summary of database statistics click here These are the facilities that are currently available on these pages: The search facility will display the details for a particular search request in web page format. I would really appreciate it if any submissions could be validated by attaching a scan of the certificate or a copy of the PDF. I promise to delete the image after the details are entered into the database. Whereas I will make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information in the database, it is still recommended that an actual certified copy of the actual certificate is obtained from the GRO (Click here to order from the GRO) to be absolutely sure of the correctness of the record and that it pertains to your family tree. |
